Campaign number: 3:
TAKE CONTROL OF NIGERIA FROM THE CROOKS, ONE BIT BY BIT
Details
I have been arguing about a group of us taking control of an enclave within Nigeria, running it the way we expect a decent society to be run and the use that as a launchpad for our fight to take over the rest of the country. I believe that a law recently passed, allows local governments to get their revenue allocation directly from the federal government rather than though state governments. This means that local governments are no longer necessarily beholden to and at the mercy of state governments. Therefore - in principle - it is possible for us to identify one local government area from somewhere in the country that is not so beholden to either of the two big parties and that has a sophisticated enough electorate to buy into our plans. We must target that place with all our and, if we win the elections there, we must run it in such a decent way that the people will continue to vote us back into office. Once we gain control, then we will do our best to make this place a decent society: we will build mini power stations, water works to make clean water supply available, bolster the electricity supply... build/run very good hospitals, schools, factories, roads, create as much employment as possible for all those of working age etc etc. In other, for this to be possible, we have to sink/invest all our resources into this enclave. Our resources will not really just be money.it will also be our efforts and skills/manpower: eg for the health sector, we will have a large pool of diaspora doctors and nurses who will keep coming to this local government on a rotational basis, all the year round. If several of these doctors give us just two or three weeks of free service a year, whenever they visit the country, we will have a great health care system in that region. We will also do the same for professionals on other industries.
If people from other local government areas want to use our services, we tell them that they have to wait until the next elections and then they can choose to vote our movement in to take over control of their community. Either they do that or they will have to stick with the crooks that they keep voting for. We have to be this brutal in order to wrest power from the ruling class by showing those who support them what they are losing out on. Of course this will be done within limits of common sense: we will not send dying children away or help people who are victims of natural disasters etc etc. A compromise to this, also, is that anyone outside the local government area may access our services, but for a commercial fee, which we will use to further develop our LGA. I think you will see several "big men" coming to pay for our services rather than travel to UK or US or India for medical treatment! We will have several visual signs as to the intent of the LGA. EG we will have a sign, seen on entry which says: "XYZ LGA: Zero tolerance to corruption, impunity, tribalism etc etc"
It's not a far-fetched idea. Aiyetoro was once a planned, self-sufficient town that worked. Sadly, did not continue after its founder's death. Imagine an enclave in Nigeria where everything works: regular electricity, clean pipe-borne potable water, observance of the rule of law, great and free education and brilliant public health care. This is where we we call out foreign brothers to come and help.... and when people from other parts of the state or country want to come and use our resources, we say to them: "no". If you want to enjoy what we are enjoying here, start by voting out the crooks that have been doing nothing for you and vote in the people that we suggest to you...
NEXT STEPS: We need people to start researching/identifying communities that are ideal targets for our plans.
